I just received my Usui Reiki I course yesterday and absolutely love the course handbook—I literally cannot put it down.  I am so glad that I have found Holistic Arts Institute!

Receiving

Reiki Attunements

The process of attunement or initiation is what sets Reiki apart from other forms of hands-on healing.  It is extremely important to realize that the attunement does not give you anything new.  It is an initiation that facilitates what you really are already capable of.  The attunement is a process that happens between the Reiki Master/Teacher and the student.  As the auras of the two people meld together, the student’s energy channels open and obstructions or blockages start to release.  In other words, the density that the student has acquired over their lifetime begins to lift from their subtle and physical body grid.  Each time a person receives an attunement, a larger percentage of this density releases.  With less obstruction, the light of the Universe flows brighter and more in phase, like a coherent laser beam.  It is the attunements themselves that are Reiki, and without this process, the healing system is not Reiki but something else). . . . MORE!

REIKI PRINCIPLES

Just for today, I am without anger.

Just for today, I am without worry.

Just for today, I am grateful for my

many blessings.

Just for today, I am diligent in my

work (meditative practice).

Just for today, I am compassionate to

myself and every living thing. . . . MORE!

In the life force energy of Reiki, the person who is attuned as a Reiki Practitioner has had their body’s energy channels opened and cleared of obstructions by the Reiki attunements.  They now not only receive an increase in this life energy or Ki for their own healing, but become connected to the Source of Universal Ki.  This source may be described in any way the healer chooses to name it.  Other terms might be God, Goddess, the Higher Self, or whatever may be regarded as Universal Consciousness.  Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion.  This Universal Life Force Energy is the source of life itself and far older than any religious philosophy.

In the HAI Usui Reiki I Course, you will learn about and be attuned to First Degree Reiki, also called Shoden in some Japanese branches.  First Degree Reiki focuses on self-healing and physical healing.  Before the highest work can be done for others, we must first cleanse and heal ourselves.  The First Degree attunement turns the Reiki power on so that the chakras and aura have their first cleansing release.  Reiki I will open you to the idea of utilizing Reiki Energy for healing our own physical bodies, our friends and families, our animals, plants, food, and environment.  Reiki is truly for the good of all, not just for the good of humans.  The First Degree class material includes the hand positions used when doing Reiki for the self and others, the Reiki Principles, and the history of Reiki.  You will be given a self-healing practice routine to continue and develop before moving on to the Second Level.  The First Degree training will prepare you to practice the healing system of Reiki at a nonprofessional level.
