THE HEALING BENEFITS OF WATER

All cellular communication uses water; and it is water that is

the primary vehicle for the transmission of chemicals, hormones,

and nutrients throughout the body.

Quality water might be the most overlooked aspect of preventative health care, and the most valuable healing tool that is available to us.  It has a cleansing solvent effect on our bodies, and sufficient water intake is absolutely essential for the body to function efficiently.  With drinking water threatened by droughts, environmental pollution, and contaminants, it is important to consider where water comes from and its vital contribution to health (Balch 134).

The Colorful Spectrum

of Phytonutrients

From the faint blush on a ripe peach to the vibrant purple of concord grapes, the beautiful colors of fruits and vegetables are imparted by natural chemicals called phytochemicals or phytonutrients.  These nutrients not only give plants their color, they also provide flavor, and natural disease resistance.  Plants form phytonutrients to protect themselves from disease, and these properties, fortunately, extend to us.  The primary benefits of these natural chemicals lie in their abilities as antioxidants to fight premature aging, prevent disease, and aid the body to resist cancer.  There are many, many thousands of phytonutrients that work synergistically to support our health.  Tomatoes alone are believed to contain an estimated ten thousand different phytonutrients (Balch 48). . . . The Healing Benefits of Water

By Theda Renee Floyd, PhD, RN, HHP

Water is a medium that is able to amplify and send energetic wave patterns.  The ability of water to copy, memorize, and carry energetic signals and messages was shown in the 1980s by researcher Jacque Benveniste.  In an experiment, he exposed ordinary water to the recorded signals of acetylcholine and ovalbumin.  The recordings were then introduced to isolated guinea pig hearts.  The effects of the digitized water were identical to the effects on the heart produced by the actual substances of acetylcholine and ovalbumin.  This experiment and others like it, although controversial, provide insight into the importance of water in cellular communication and the ability of water to duplicate and transmit the energy frequencies of a substance.  The ability of water to copy and memorize information is also the theory behind the potentization process that is used in homeopathy (Lloyd 65).

The work of Masaru Emoto, reported in The Hidden Messages in Water, further emphasized the unlimited ability of water to copy and store information.  He demonstrated that thoughts and words have the ability to change the crystalline form of water.  Emoto wrapped a piece of paper with words typed on it around a bottle of water.  He then froze the water and took pictures of the ice crystals.  Emoto discovered that when words or thoughts directed to the water are positive, the crystal formations are complete, symmetrical, and colorful; however, when they are negative, the formations are incomplete, asymmetrical, and dull.

Thoughts and words, whether spoken or written, initiate a wave pattern and influence their surroundings.  Water has a tremendous capability to store memories and different wave patterns, vibrations, and frequencies.  Water is the conductor and amplifier for life, and it is to be in continuous motion.  This waterdance induces change for the Earth and also for us.  Water in a river remains vital because it is moving.  It carves canyons and transports mountaintops hundreds of miles to the sea.  However, when water is not moving, it becomes stagnant and toxic.  Similarly, the water or blood, circulating in the bodies of the sick is usually somewhat sluggish, stagnant, and toxic.  When blood flow is impaired, the body begins to decay (Emoto xvi).

All cellular communication uses water; and it is water that is the primary vehicle for the transmission of chemicals, hormones, and nutrients throughout the body.  A fetus is about ninety-nine percent water; a newborn is about ninety percent water; and an adult is about seventy percent water.  We rely upon water for cooling the body, digestion, and elimination.  Water is also necessary for lubricating our joints and mucous membranes.  At the cellular level, most chemical reactions take place in water.  It is water that delivers nutrients to the cell and carries away wastes.  In every cell, there is one molecule of protein for every ten thousand molecules of water.  It is water that holds the double helix of our DNA together (Lloyd 65).  It follows that when water intake is insufficient all body processes will be impaired, and all body systems will be impacted.

Humans can go without food for thirty to forty days, but without water life would end in three to five days.  Chronic dehydration refers to a persistent water shortage for an extended time.  Everyone who is not drinking enough water is affected by chronic dehydration, and the following are just some of the conditions associated with it:  fatigue, hunger, depression, stress, migraine headaches, constipation, digestive disorders, high and low blood pressure, gastritis, stomach ulcers, respiratory troubles, acid-alkaline imbalances, excess weight and obesity, eczema, high cholesterol, cystitis, urinary infections, joint pain, muscle pain, allergies, infection, cancer, premature aging, and death.

A dry mouth is not the first sign of dehydration, and is not even a reliable indicator.  Feelings of hunger often signal that a condition of water deficiency is present since foods, particularly whole foods, are natural sources of water.  Your very first feelings of hunger may often be satisfied simply by drinking one or two glasses of water.  Actually, it is fatigue, physical and/or mental exhaustion, that is usually the first indication of chronic dehydration.  This occurs because it is intracellular water that engages the wide range of cellular biochemistry including energy production.  If the volume of intracellular water decrease, energy production also decreases in exponential proportions.

We can avoid the numerous problems mentioned above simply by drinking eight to ten glasses of quality water per day.  Alcohol, soft drinks, milk, coffee, tea, iced tea, and tap water should not be included in the eight to ten glasses per day requirement.  If you drink beverages containing caffeine, which has a diuretic effect, you need an additional glass of water for every cup you drink.  Because thirst tends to decrease as we age, even though our need for water remains the same, mature persons need to increase their intake of water even though they may not feel thirsty.

It is extremely important to pay attention to the quality of the water you drink.  In many urban areas the water, although filtered at the processing plant, runs through old pipes and may contain traces of pollutants.  Also controversial is the fluoride that is added to public water supplies.  As well, all of the processing results in a lack of vital energy in much of today’s drinking water.  If you live in a place where the water source is not high quality, purchase bottled spring water, or invest in a water purifier.  However, do be aware that many bottled waters are not as pure as the bottlers would have you believe.  Even if the water was pure when bottled, the solvents that may leach from the plastic bottle into the water are seldom measured.  For obvious reasons, glass containers are preferable over the plastic bottles that can contaminate the water.  A high quality water filter is probably the most reliable source of pure water, but read the manufacturer’s specifications closely, as there are many types.  Reverse osmosis processing seems to be the water safety system of choice among discriminating water connoisseurs (Travis 95).

As water is able to amplify and send energetic wave patterns, you can further enhance your drinking water’s healing properties, by charging it with healing energy.  Begin by filling a glass with water from a quality source.  Now hold your palm over it, an inch or two from the surface.  Set the intention that healing energy be directed to the water.  You may feel this energy being transmitted through you.  If your palm tingles, keep it over the water until the tingling stops while the healing energy is charging the water.  Once the water has been charged, drink it slowly, visualizing that you are sipping healing light.
